FAQ

Q: How should I hang my tapestry?

A: There are a number of ways you can hang the piece. The easiest though is to use at least 6-10 clear thumbtacks on the top of the tapestry.  This is for sure the most minimal way to hang the work as the top tassel will hide the thumbtacks and they shouldn't pull too much on the weave.  I would recommend having a friend help you and starting from the center of the tapestry and working towards the sides so it will stay even. Also if there are any wrinkles feel free to iron or steam them out and it should lay flat on the wall.

Other ways to hang which I've done in the past have included using a long piece of wooden dowel or board for stitching too and hanging from the top. I've even hung some in shows by repurposing copper pipe and running chain through and lightly stitching the top fabric over the pipe.  I even used to stretch the (smaller) works over canvas for exhibitions.

Q: How should I display my Cyanotype?

A: Cyanotypes are a traditional and chemical form of photography which is sensitive to UV light, for the best archival handling of the print it should be framed ideally with UV glass, and not hung in direct sunlight.  Long term UV exposure may cause fading to the print with any analog photograph.
